not so crazy daisy

a froth of daisies
tickle the hillside
behind the barn
petals beyond petals
deciding the fate
of would be lovers
does she love me?
does he love me not?
why don’t you ask her?
one daisy finally said
that way
 you will know
and i can keep my head

Peace ~ Rene

  1. Miss,I apologize for the intrusion. It's always uncomfortable when commenting as the 'New Guy.' I'll be brief. Your poetry is truly alluring for me. Not so much your grammar or syntax or even the content…it's as though you are struggling deep inside. Perhaps a struggle between the spiritual and carnal. You have an attachment to the dissonance assaulting your senses, and you internalize it, which is captivating; maybe I recognize this as I too struggle with my own demons. There is comfort in knowing I'm not alone. Sorry for taking so much of your time.Kindest Wishes

  2. The daisy is the bane of young girl lovers who find themselves with one last petal and it is not the "He loves me" one. It's been forever since I've done that plucking thing. Thanks for the memory, and the plucky perspective of the daisy that wants to keep its head.
